With six horns and a drummer at its core, this remarkable ensemble plays, grooves, dances and rumbles at the intersection of brass & jazz. Founded in 2014 by drummer Yves Peeters, Kleptomatics stubbornly and joyfully turns a wide range of styles into a diverse set of lively music.
The band has always been known for its strong live credentials and Kleptomatics doesn’t shy away from any stage: from clubs to concert halls to street concerts and festivals (such as Gent Jazz Festival, Copacobana, inJazz Festival (NL), Jazz in’t Park).
After years of building up a reputation, the band was determined to record an album. In August 2018, Kleptomatics recorded six of their own compositions at Robot Studios. After two intense days, they capped it all with a performance in front of a live audience (two of these tracks made it on the album). The result is short but powerful, a self-published untitled debut released in May 2019.
